Rebirth

Another from the archives. It starts out very dramatic with cinematic scale, so make sure you're in the mood. That said, I hope you'll find it uplifting at some point or another, as is always my goal.

This time I was putting together an audition tape to participate in a huge music festival in central Washington. I'm very proud of tracks #1 and #4. My first "mash-ups" ever. Track #1 was very challenging as one track was house and the other track was definitely not. I was forced to adjust the pitch constantly for about 7 mins straight and was probably holding my breath the entire time, which never helps. (My fellow DJ's will understand what I'm talking about).

As things go, the music festival didn't end up panning out, but it yielded a pretty solid mix, nonetheless. Get ready to go on a tour of Mama Africa! Flights departing every few minutes...

Pink Champagne - NYE 2005

That NYE, I knew I was playing for a majority of French and euros, thus the totally Africanism vibe. It was a great loft party in Downtown LA. My most vivid memory of that night was playing "Linda"/Martin Solveig and the entire crowd was singing along. The thing that blows my mind is that just about everything you hear on this mix is like Top 40 to them. If only we had a radio station playing this in LA. I'm pretty sure there would be less road rage, although people might get in accidents just by nature of the uncontrollable desire to dance around in one's car. Try to resist the temptation to get lost in the music while driving by simply pulling over to the side of the road and dancing in the street instead. Safety first!
